- **How many referrals do practices typically lose?** A study in the Journal of General Internal Medicine found 35% of referred patients did not attend the specialist appointment (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5910374/). The only number that matters for your practice is your own: count referrals received versus appointments booked.
- **Does SimpleRef integrate with Best Practice / Medical Director?** No PMS integration is sold as part of any current plan. SimpleRef runs alongside your PMS and handles inbound referral tracking; billing and clinical notes stay where they are. Ask us if an integration matters to your practice.
- **Where is data stored?** Patient and referral records are stored on Google Cloud in Sydney, Australia (australia-southeast1), encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS). AI Intake is included in every plan and cannot be switched off, but nothing is sent to Google unless someone uploads a document to it — those uploaded documents go to Google's AI service for extraction, which is not hosted in Australia. Stripe processes billing offshore; it never receives clinical records.
